We have received the following notice from Wales & West Utilities regarding the upgrade to the Ivybridge gas pipe:
Our work will start on 7 November on New Park Road and we will also be working on Westward Inn to Beech Road and the A38 Eastbound entry slip onto the A38. Barring any engineering difficulties, we expect to be finished by Christmas December 2019.
We know our work can be disruptive, so we have worked closely with Devon County Council and Highways England to keep this to a minimum. To keep the local community, road users and our colleagues safe, we will have phased road closures and rolling traffic lights in place on New Park Road and Westward Inn to Beech Road while we are working. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted.
This essential gas pipe investment work is part of our multi-million-pound 30 year gas pipe investment programme across the south west of England and Wales. Old metal gas pipes within 30 metres of buildings are being upgraded to new, long lasting plastic ones. We are spending £1.4 million on this programme every week to keep the gas flowing and make sure your gas network is fit for the future.
I appreciate this work may, at times, be inconvenient, but it really is essential to make sure that we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in your area and you and your family are safe and warm for generations to come.
